R3 Symposium Presentation

Sarah Candelaria, Youth Program Director for NMWF and Nature Ninos New Mexico, presented at this year's R3 Symposium alongside Christopher Kilgour, from Color in the Outdoors, and William Freeman Jr., with Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. 

The trio shared a wealth of knowledge and best practices for engaging with marginalized youth in communities across the country to ensure that the next generation of youth are prepared to carry on the traditions of shooting sports. 

Highlighted within the presentations was the concept of the importance of building relationships with nontraditional partners in the community that can help to provide a tiered approach to the introduction of outdoor spaces to communities that are typically left behind.
