Sandia Man Caves

Sandia Man Cave is a great hike close to the city. The road leading to the trailhead is a dirt road, no 4x4 needed. However, the road can be difficult to travel during or after wet weather. The trail or easy to follow. There are a few spots along the way that trail that become very narrow and there is a significant drop on one side of the trail. The stairs are a little worn down so watch your step. Once you climb the metal staircase and enter the cave be mindful of how far you go in it can get pretty dusty. The road leading to the trailhead has a few spots to pull off and enjoy the small stream that runs alongside the road. Pack a lunch and enjoy the cool spot!
